This programĀ focuses on core obedience and life skills to help your dog become a well-mannered member of the community.Ā
We typically focus on 2ā3 core behaviours such as:
- Loose lead walking
- Sit, drop, stay
- Polite greeting (No jumping)
- Recall foundations
Note: This program is not suitable for dogs with big reactions to people, dogs or anything else in their environment. If your dog struggles with these issues, our IntensiveĀ BoardĀ &Ā TrainĀ Program is a better fit.
Intensive Board & Train
3 Week Program (regardless of age)

Whether itās overexcitement, anxiety, reactivity, or difficulty focusing in the real world, this IntensiveĀ BoardĀ &Ā TrainĀ Program creates meaningful change through structured, dailyĀ training. The goal is to build strong foundations and help your dog remain calm, focused, and responsive āĀ even with life going on around them.
Examples of behaviours that may be addressed:
- Dog reactivity or aggression
- Human reactivity or aggression (assessment required)
- Leash reactivity and pulling
- Anxiety or low confidence
- Overexcitement or lack of impulse control
- Out of control behaviour
- Poor manners (jumping/mouthing)
Weāll guide you on the ideal length of stay based on your dogās behaviours, breed, and yourĀ trainingĀ goals. Some behaviours require additional time (25-30 days) to work through effectively.
Daycare & Train
$90 /day
OurĀ Daycare & TrainĀ program isĀ designedĀ to be as enriching and mentally stimulating as possible.
You simply drop your dog off in the morning, and theyāll spend the day one-on-one with our trainers learning about things like loose lead walking, calm mindsets, confidence building, new tricks, and more!
At the end of the day, you'll get a report card with the activities of the day and maybe some fun tips and tricks from their trainer.Ā
Your dog can learn and grow while you work or get things done around the house, dog free!

We couldnāt be happier with our experience at Kip, and want to extend our endless gratitude to Alex! Our one year old German Shepherd, Roo, went into the 21-day board and train program as a strong leash puller and she really didnāt know how to behave around other dogs - the transformation has been incredible. Alex was absolutely fantastic from start to finish. She kept us in the loop with daily pup-date photos and videos, as well as detailed weekly progress emails, which made us feel so confident and reassured throughout the whole process. Being overseas at the time, it was so reassuring to know how much care and attention Roo was receiving every single day. One thing we really appreciated was how clearly and simply Alex explained everything to us. She took the time to show us practical ways to better manage Rooās energy, and how to positively redirect her attention when she gets distracted. It made such a difference having guidance that was easy to understand and actually achievable in day-to-day life. The biggest testament to Alexās work? Roo LOVED her time there and obviously adored Alex. When we returned for our follow-up session two weeks later, Roo was beyond excited to see her again ā which says everything about the positive, supportive environment she created. We now feel so much more equipped and confident to continue Rooās training at home and keep her moving in the right direction. A huge thank you to Alex and the entire Kip team for all your hard work, dedication, and genuine care. Weāre so grateful!

They were absolutely brilliant with my old girl who we unfortunately lost last yearā¦ when I had to inform them of a cancellation due to them passingā¦ Iāll never forget the considerate and caring email they sent meā¦and they continue to provide brilliant care of my other fur baby. I've had my old ginger cat, Ruby, stay at Kip Melbourne South East 3 times now and she seems to love the experience. The staff take wonderful care of her. They send me regular updates and photos of her relaxing and playing. I can't recommend them highly enough.

Moby came in was very reactive and we needed a better understanding on how to control certain situations...we went on holiday forn3 weeks and sent him to the 3week program. Alex was his trainer who was just amazing, we got photos and videos everyday and updates once a week. We came back to seeing moby being in close distances to other dogs and learnt more on how to make Moby a happier dog. They know what they doing , just trust thr process. So Thank you from Moby and his parents

Murphy stayed for a 3 week board and train. He came home a different dog. Murphy is a 10 month old German Shepherd, who had a rough start in life. An injury led to elbow issues and he needed surgery. Crated for 6 weeks. He was behind on his training, socialization and was very reactive. He is also a prized show dog, wining every category he entered prior to the injury. So I was definitely the over protected show dog mum. Meg understood, she listened and accommodated my every request. Murphys care was extensive, one training session a day, then a physio session a day. His own food and multiple supplements. HIs care was complex. I received daily updates, when he had a tummy upset (completely normal when dogs are in a new environment), I received a message whilst i was overseas. It was we can give him probiotics (at no charge). We decide to change him onto his own dry food and see how it goes for a day. I was advised things settled. At handover we spent 2 hours TEACHING ME, how to handle Murphy. The marks, the que''s etc. Meg was patient and let me practice until i felt i was comfortable. i have own a lot of big dogs, and been to a lot of boarding kennels in my day , - BUT THIS IS A STAND OUT. German Shepherd parents are over the top at the best of times, and yes they are all our babies. I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE ELSE EVER! THE 3 HOURS DRIVE IS WORTH MY DOGS HEALTH, CARE AND HAPPINESS. I would give Meg 10stars. ********************************** We have now settled in back at home. Everyone cannot believe how good he is now on loose lead, healing and generally paying attention. We are working hard to keep his good habits up and US HOOMANS NOW UNDERSTAND, it is us that create a GOOD DOG, by being consistent and disciplined. A good pack leader. We use the training sheets to ensure Murphy gets his walls, training and physio daily - it has really helped us stay on track. I am very grateful I found this place. Andrea Guy

Our dog, Nala, has always been a Kip girlie. She's attended Kip Blackburn and Kip Bayswater for day care every single week, and attended Kip Melbourne SE on multiple occasions. Every single time, she has come back happy and healthy. Kip does an amazing job keeping us updated through their portal. They also communicated proactively with any concerns they had about Nala's health and wellbeing. She socialised with many different dogs throughout her stay and was able to eat her special diet as requested without any dramas. Although Kip does end up being a bit more expensive, it is definitely worth it.
Kip is fantastic! We have a very anxious dog and they take the best care of her, she loves it there! Thanks guys!

Super friendly and professional pet resort. I love the daily updates of photos and videos. My anxious rescue dog always goes there when I travel. It gives her stability to go to the same place. I know that, when I go pick her up, she has just been bathed, ready to head home. Report card in paw! Thank you for taking such good care of my Telly.

Murphy stayed for a 3 week board and train. He came home a different dog. Murphy is a 10 month old German Shepherd, who had a rough start in life. An injury led to elbow issues and he needed surgery. Crated for 6 weeks. He was behind on his training, socialization and was very reactive. He is also a prized show dog, wining every category he entered prior to the injury. So I was definitely the over protected show dog mum. Meg understood, she listened and accommodated my every request. Murphys care was extensive, one training session a day, then a physio session a day. His own food and multiple supplements. HIs care was complex. I received daily updates, when he had a tummy upset (completely normal when dogs are in a new environment), I received a message whilst i was overseas. It was we can give him probiotics (at no charge). We decide to change him onto his own dry food and see how it goes for a day. I was advised things settled. At handover we spent 2 hours TEACHING ME, how to handle Murphy. The marks, the que''s etc. Meg was patient and let me practice until i felt i was comfortable. i have own a lot of big dogs, and been to a lot of boarding kennels in my day , - BUT THIS IS A STAND OUT. German Shepherd parents are over the top at the best of times, and yes they are all our babies. I AM NOT GOING ANYWHERE ELSE EVER! THE 3 HOURS DRIVE IS WORTH MY DOGS HEALTH, CARE AND HAPPINESS. I would give Meg 10stars. ********************************** We have now settled in back at home. Everyone cannot believe how good he is now on loose lead, healing and generally paying attention. We are working hard to keep his good habits up and US HOOMANS NOW UNDERSTAND, it is us that create a GOOD DOG, by being consistent and disciplined. A good pack leader. We use the training sheets to ensure Murphy gets his walls, training and physio daily - it has really helped us stay on track. I am very grateful I found this place. Andrea Guy

Our dog, Nala, has always been a Kip girlie. She's attended Kip Blackburn and Kip Bayswater for day care every single week, and attended Kip Melbourne SE on multiple occasions. Every single time, she has come back happy and healthy. Kip does an amazing job keeping us updated through their portal. They also communicated proactively with any concerns they had about Nala's health and wellbeing. She socialised with many different dogs throughout her stay and was able to eat her special diet as requested without any dramas. Although Kip does end up being a bit more expensive, it is definitely worth it.
Kip is fantastic! We have a very anxious dog and they take the best care of her, she loves it there! Thanks guys!

Super friendly and professional pet resort. I love the daily updates of photos and videos. My anxious rescue dog always goes there when I travel. It gives her stability to go to the same place. During the final handover, she patiently and meticulously explained the dog's characteristics and training results, personally guiding us on how to proceed. I gained a lot of valuable experience. I would definitely choose this place again if needed in the future.

My two dogs attended the board and train 21 days and I am so impressed by the results and experience. Both dogs are now loose lead walking and are more confident than ever. The best part for me is seeing my dog Ruby wagging her tail on walks instead of in between her legs, it has been such an incredible transformation. Meg and Megan were attentive and sensitive to the the dogs needs as well as offering expert advice and delivering exceptional training. I am so happy my dogs were well looked after and shown a lot of love. Thank you Kip, we will see you again! ā¤ļø

We needed help. We had no recall and little control over Henry, our two year old Great Dane. Although playful, his size made him potentially dangerous. And after a minor altercation with another dog, we signed up with Kip. Henry completed a three week intensive training course. The staff were amazing! Big shout out to Meg. She kept us up to date with photos, videos and emails on his training and well being. We completed an online course at the same time, to help us get a better understanding of Henryās body language and behaviour, and how to successfully manage it. At the hand over sessions, we worked through all the new commands with Meg. We dropped off a mischievous giant doofus, who trampled everything in his excitement. And we brought home a mischievous giant doofus, that listens to us and comes when heās called. Training is an on going process and fun. Highly recommend Kip South Eastern. They know dogs and every element of their behaviour . We still receive emails checking in on him, and offering help when needed. Thank you Kip.

Yes. The program is designed as a step-by-step process, and your dog needs the consistency of staying with us every day. This way they keep momentum, build on what theyāve learned, and get the best results.
Throughout your dogās Board and Train program, we will train your dog multiple times each day. At the conclusion, we will conduct a hand-over lesson to ensure you know how to control and maintain your dogās behaviour once they return home.
Your dogās training program includes everything: their room, meals, a dedicated certified trainer, online modules for you, free weekly updates, and a comprehensive handover at the end. The price reflects the time, care, and expertise that go into giving your dog the best possible results.
Yes, for the safety of your pet and all other pets in our care.
Our vaccination policy is as follows:
Vaccination Requirement:Ā Your pet must be vaccinated, and the vaccination must be valid for the entire duration of your pet's stay.
- Puppies may board 10 days after their final puppy vaccines as long as they are C5 or equivalent.
- Kittens may board 10 days after their final kitten vaccines as long as they are F3 or equivalent.
- Dogs must have an up-to-date C5 (or equivalent) vaccination.
- Cats must have an up-to-date F3 vaccination.
10-Day Rule:Ā If your pet's previous vaccination had lapsed by more than 14 days, the new vaccine must be administered at least 10 days before the check-in date.
Vaccination Documentation:Ā You are required to provide proof of your petās current vaccination. If your pet is checking in within 10 days of their most recent vaccination, we also require the certificate from their immediate prior vaccination.
We are able to care for pets if theyāre not desexed. We do not take dogs in heat across our centres. To the extent your dog comes into heat whilst in our care, we will require an emergency contact to pick them up within 24 hours of being notified. We will not accommodate entire males in the same room as undesexed females.
Certainly, many owners take the opportunity to have Refresher Training for their dog during their next stay.
